The dab: Seen as one of the most influential dance moves of all time, the dab is a staple in every student’s childhood. The dab can be used in almost every situation, and never fails to bring a smile to those around it. This tremendous move sometimes overshadows the other, equally as impressive dance moves created in sports celebrations. Some of these moves have deeply heartwarming backgrounds that should not soon be forgotten.
Hungarian straddle squat: Starting in 2016 during the National Shuffle Boarding tournament, J. Backflip combined the traditional art of Hungarian court dancing, the Czárdas, and the impressive core work of a straddle squat. The crowd immediately went wild and the prime minister was flown out just 12 hours later to shake hands with the star player, awarding him the Hungarian Medal of Honor: the highest award any citizen anywhere can obtain.
Reverse backrooms tandem plie: After a particularly grueling chess match, young Pubert Cross finally struck his opponent with the dreaded Positional Prophylaxis and put him incheck. The game had been going on for six hours and 27 minutes at this time, in the village where the French Dancing Curse once took place. Pubert spun around and gracefully carried out the move to the room full of tired spectators and finally ended the game. Seen as a hero of his time, Pubert later grew up to invent the jean jacket.
Greasy and oiled twirl into triple-step: A dry catchers mitt is considered highly blasphemous in the softball community, sometimes even resulting in a suspension from all team bonding/community events. John Ball is no stranger to these ordinances, a longtime player of 12 years, Ball was oiling up his mitt before a big game when the buzzer suddenly went off. Jumping in shock and squeezing the bottle of oil resulted in a thin layer of it over Ball the entire duration of the game. It’s his best game to date, 7 home runs in the span of 45 minutes. After the stupendous victory, John Ball burst into dance and broke into tears of joy.
Rene-gay son or thot daughter: The viral 2019 dancing sensation or the age old question akin to “what came first, the chicken or the egg?” This move conquers both simultaneously. It was regarded as ahead of its time when in 2021, Lord Handshake mixed these into one grotesque 30 second dance routine. Baseball fans were seen leaving the stadium moments later shaking their heads in disappointment. Handshake later made a public apology stating, “I would personally choose both when asked gay son or thot daughter, only children are strange,” and nothing else. Needless to say, fans were not impressed and the team was banned from the World Series for the rest of time.
