While the 2025 NFL season is coming to an end, the new year brings breaking news along with it; reindeers are officially allowed to participate in the 2026 draft! While admittedly perplexing to some, (football, to begin with, is hard to follow and now reindeers are included,) so here to help is a well thought out draft for the NRFL (National Reindeer Football League) best prospects of the year! Without a doubt, Dasher is the speediest on and off the field. Audiences can 100 percent count on him to be a game breaker at the end of the day. To be a good cornerback, you need to develop a strong foundation of physical skills like speed, agility, and footwork which Dasher effortlessly has. Pulling a sleigh around the world in one night suggests incredible stamina, meaning Dasher could remain a threat late in the fourth quarter when others start to tire. Similar to his name, dancer is swift and elegant, meaning he can do a smooth spin move around any defender and a graceful leap to obtain the ball. Being a wide receiver leaves you up to running complex routes throughout the game, but with the same practice every year Dancer is skilled when encountering certain obstacles or sudden changes in direction on the field. Prancer is a charming reindeer, ready for the press that comes along playing in the NRFL, helpful until it’s serious on the field. Fortunately, we have nothing to worry about because he loves the spotlight meaning he will perform special tricks and create celebrations you will see all over social media in a couple of days. Vixen has spent her whole life playing around with the other reindeer making her adequately prepared to play in the big leagues now. Vixen also has a strong football IQ and would be great at reading the opposing team’s plays, anticipating routes, and knowing exactly when to shoot a gap or blitz. This makes her perfect for a defensive signal-caller role. comet, going off of his name’s sake would be an elite wide receiver . Comet could stray from the group and soar through the air to receive a flying ball or to run the long, looping post and corner routes. Comet can be a showoff though at some points, which could be dangerous to his career and future performances. though Cupid’s job is to inspire affection and positive feelings, he is not here to play around. Cupid’s attributes are less about raw speed or power and more about precision, timing, and creating favorable situations for the team. Cupid’s ultimate position would be a highly accurate and charismatic Quarterback. speaking of strong leaders, another relevant reindeer is Donner. Donner would be defined by raw, brute strength and a powerful, heavy frame along with his antlers. This makes him ideal for the positions that require moving massive objects (such as other reindeers/players). Donner’s ultimate position would be a dominant, interior Offensive Lineman. Offensive linemen control the trenches, clear paths for runners, and shield the QB. Blitzen is a player to look out for during this season. He has a fire inside of him we have yet to see in the original NFL. Combining speed with natural reindeer mass; Blitzen would be a devastating tackler. The impact would be extremely powerful, hence the term with his former teammate Donner: “Donner and Blitzen” (Thunder and Lightning). Blitzen’s ultimate position would be a game-changing, pass-rushing Outside Linebacker.
this reindeer needs no introduction, but he sure deserves one. Rudolph is young and undoubtedly has a bright future ahead of him. Former underdogs have a grit that is excellent on the field and Rudolph is thirsty for the same recognition Santa gave him on that fateful night and will bring that energy to the game. Rudolph doesn’t let his fame-filled life get to him and is still a superior leader and Quarterback.
Good luck to everybody for the 2026 National Football Reindeer League season!
